…A unique line of cornets developed by renowned player Ernst A. Couturier and built by J. W. York & Sons around 1913-1916, featuring a revolutionary continuous conical bore for less air resistance, often with unique “bowtie” valve tubing without traditional slides and a rotary Bb/A change valve, reflecting Couturier’s quest for superior tone and response. These early models (serial numbers 39000-41000) are collector’s items known for their innovative design, challenging traditional cornet construction.
